Key Information
- Homework will be set every Friday and should be submitted by the following Friday.
- TT Rockstars battles will run weekly Friday- Friday. If your child needs a login, let their class teacher know.
- PE lessons will take place every Friday. Children must have full PE kit in school on these days. Earrings must be removed at home or children must be able to take out the earrings themselves.

Autumn Term – A Term of Discovery, Adventure and Creativity! 🍂
We are delighted to welcome the children back for another exciting year! The Autumn Term is packed with engaging learning experiences that will encourage curiosity, develop confidence and inspire a love of learning. From travelling to the Amazon Rainforest to stepping back in time to the Industrial Revolution, there will be plenty of opportunities for children to explore, investigate and create.
Our English lessons will take us on a wonderful literary journey. We'll begin with The Chocolate Tree, using the story to inspire descriptive writing before immersing ourselves in the magical world of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Later in the term, we'll enjoy The Chocolate Ghost and finish with the festive favourite How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Through these engaging texts, children will write stories, persuasive pieces and explanation texts while developing their vocabulary, grammar and confidence as writers.
In Mathematics, we'll build strong foundations by developing our understanding of place value, addition and subtraction, before moving on to multiplication and division as the term progresses. Through practical resources, reasoning activities and problem-solving challenges, children will strengthen their fluency and mathematical thinking.
Our Science learning begins with Rocks and Soils, where children will investigate different types of rocks, discover how fossils are formed and learn about the remarkable work of Mary Anning. Later in the term, we'll move on to Plants, exploring the different parts of flowering plants, how water is transported and what plants need to grow and thrive.
In Geography, we'll travel to South America, exploring the diverse landscapes of Brazil and the incredible Amazon Rainforest. We'll compare life there with life in the United Kingdom while learning about climate, wildlife and the importance of protecting one of the world's most valuable environments.
Our learning will then take us back in time in History as we discover the story of The Black Country and the Industrial Revolution. We'll investigate how industry transformed our local area before learning about the impact of Cadbury and its lasting influence on the West Midlands.
Creativity will flourish throughout the term. In Art, children will explore the bold, colourful world of Pop Art, taking inspiration from Andy Warhol to design their own vibrant chocolate wrapper artwork. In Music, alongside developing their musical skills, the children will spend the second half of the term preparing for our much-loved Christmas Carol Concert, building confidence through singing and performance.
Throughout the Autumn Term, children will also enjoy a broad curriculum including PE, Computing, French, RSHE and RE, developing teamwork, resilience, digital skills and an understanding of the wider world through exciting practical experiences.
It promises to be a memorable term filled with discovery, creativity and achievement. We look forward to working together and sharing the children's wonderful learning and successes with you throughout the Autumn Term.
