Computing rationale

Our Computing rationale explains how we deliver a curriculum that equips pupils with the knowledge and skills to thrive in a digital world. Drawing on the most recent educational research, we design a coherent and progressive learning journey that develops three key strands: computer science, information technology, and digital literacy. Through carefully sequenced lessons, pupils learn to think computationally, create digital content, and use technology safely and responsibly. Online safety is embedded throughout the curriculum to promote responsible digital citizenship. We encourage creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration, ensuring pupils can apply their learning in real-world contexts. Purposeful assessment and retrieval practice support progression and mastery, preparing pupils to navigate technology confidently and continue learning in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
