Maths Champions
At Barnfields our Maths Champions play a key role in promoting a positive attitude towards mathematics across the school community. We elect one child from each class from Years 1-6 and they are elected by their fellow classmates.
These children are positive role models for their classmates and will help understand concepts, sharing effective problem-solving strategies, and encouraging confidence in maths both inside and outside the classroom.
Maths Champions also help represent the subject by supporting Mrs Turton in leading whole school events such as Maths Week England, supporting younger students, and working with teachers to make maths engaging, inclusive, and accessible for everyone.
Through their enthusiasm and leadership, they inspire others to see maths as an enjoyable and valuable skill for everyday life.
