Parent Partnership

The EYFS framework states a partnership includes, ‘parents, families and practitioners working together to benefit children.’

We believe in the importance of this partnership and, from the moment your child starts school, we nurture that relationship. We respect parents’ role as their child’s first educator and understand the importance of involving parents in their child’s learning and aspirations for the future. We work in partnership with parents and involve them in their child’s learning, communicating effectively through:

  • Home/setting visits before your child starts school.
  • Induction meetings for parents.
  • Getting to know you sheets – to be completed by parents before their child starts school.
  • Parent workshops (Literacy and Maths).
  • Celebrations where parents are invited into school.
  • Newsletters – whole school and separate Reception weekly letters.
  • Home activities – ideas of how you can support and further your child’s learning at home.
  • Tapestry – An online Learning Journey where you can add contributions of learning you observe at home to help complete a full picture of your child’s development.
  • Open Door Policy – we operate an open-door policy and are happy to discuss your child at any time.
  • Email contact – parents have access to staff emails to communicate freely. This is especially useful for parents who work full time.
  • Parents’ Evening – twice yearly

We believe that parents have a central role in making decisions about their child’s education and care. An effective partnership between home and school is key to a successful early years’ experience for children and for them to gain the most out of their early education and reach expected levels of development.
