Our Vision

Our vision begins with your child. We believe every child is a unique child who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured. We take a holistic approach to learning, focussing on the whole child and their physical, personal, social, emotional and spiritual well-being, as well as cognitive aspects of learning.

We foster positive relationships to enable children to become secure, strong and independent. We strongly believe in the importance of working in partnership with parents to ensure the children’s emotional needs are met and that they are provided with the security they need to flourish.

We are passionate about inspiring children to reach their potential and have high aspirations of what children can achieve, while acknowledging that children develop at their own rate and in their own ways. Children in our Reception achieve well, evidenced against their outcomes against national and local averages.

We provide a broad and balanced curriculum that is fun and creative. We ensure that there is challenge and enjoyment for all children from a ‘can do’ base which maintains high levels of interest and engagement, relevant to their interests and individual learning needs.  We encourage children to be creative, curious, ask questions, tackle challenges and solve problems. This instils resilience, reflection, positivity and a love of learning and encourages the children to develop good learning behaviours and to become lifelong learners.

Our ethos is to develop confident, independent, autonomous and happy learners who enjoy coming to school. The indoor and outdoor environment is developed to promote independent learning wherein children feel safe and secure but able to take risks as they explore and investigate autonomously.

We have high expectations of children’s behaviour and implement positive behaviour management strategies to promote an effective learning environment.  Praise and reward provide a high level of motivation.  Children understand that they must respect and take responsibility for themselves, each other and their environment.  Children in Reception are aware of the school values and relate them to their day to day life in the classroom.

We are committed to the highest standards of teaching and learning.  We are a forward-thinking Early Years Team who are constantly striving for excellence in all that we do. Through teachers and practitioners individual work on current research and developments within education, we aim to inspire all learners to grow and develop in an ever-changing world.
