Safeguarding

Barnfields Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people. Safeguarding is a shared responsibility, and we expect all staff, governors, parents, carers, volunteers, and visitors to uphold this commitment at all times.

We promote an ethos of challenge and have recently welcomed a full external safeguarding audit by the safeguarding lead for Staffordshire.   We have received the report and are thrilled with the findings.

The knowledge and understanding of the staff is exemplary and amongst the best that I have seen.

Trusting relationships have clearly been built between staff and children and, whilst there are several ways for children to report concerns, nearly all choose to speak to a member of staff directly. This is a setting where the voice of the child is considered at every opportunity.

Children report feeling safe and that they feel extremely lucky to attend this school.

The school is benefitting from an experienced and knowledgeable safeguarding governor.

The school has four Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), all of whom are fully trained and responsible for ensuring that safeguarding procedures are effectively implemented and monitored. These are:

Mr Ball

 Designated Safeguarding Lead

Mrs Darlington

Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Miss Chesworth

 Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Mrs Walker

Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
